President Kersti Kaljulaid appointed nine new first-tier judges in Estonia Yesterday: Viktor Bome, Maret Hallikmaa, Roman Levin, Siiri Malmberg, Heili Sepp, Juhan Siider, Dina Sõritsa, Anu Talu and EndlaÜlviste.
The head of state emphasized that while judges of judges are not always justified, sometimes at a higher political level, the judges are independent in their decisions, and that independence cannot be taken away from them. President Kaljulaid, if necessary, also promised to draw attention to this principle.
The judges were presented by the chairman of the Riigikogu Priit Pikamäe and they gave judges to the head of state.
