President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid met today in Kadriorg, President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank Walter Steinmeier.
“Germany is one of our nearest allies in the European Union and NATO, and the values on which these organizations persist, it is also the foundation for both countries. Unity and a strong cooperation with these organizations, but also the fact that both the EU and NATO itself would be a strong and effective action, it is that for which we both stand, “the president said after meeting Kaljulaid.
The meeting also discussed the security situation in Europe and in our neighborhood, as well as the Estonian Council of the EU for the internationalization of the Eastern Partnership issues. “Our desire is to continue to maintain a strong link Eastern Partnership. We have no moral right to pull the door shut, and say that those inside it inside and who is outside and point it out. We need to support those who have an important European values and will continue to track the movement of reforms, “the President said.
Kaljulaid President thanked the German heads of state and their long-lasting and meaningful contribution to the North East corner of security, and participation in the NATO Baltic air-policing mission.
This afternoon, the heads of state gave a joint press conference in Kadriorg. President Steinmeier arrived in Estonia’s visit with his wife, Ms Elke Büdenbenderiga, who, along with Mr. Georgi-Rene Maksimovskiga Telliskivi today visited the campus of Bethel church. In the evening, the president Kaljulaid Maarjamäe palace dinner in honor of the German head of state.
