On 29 and 30 august 2016 Estonian president elections were held.
The first, second and third round at the Parliament ended with no president elected due to the conflicts among different parliament parties where previous promises for co operation were not kept and the common goal / to select a new president for Estonia was forgotten and each party just fought for themselves. Not a single president candidate got total 68 votes what is needed to be elected at the Parliament consisting of 101 members, if all members not present then two third of supermajority is needed to be elected . Next time Estonia will try to elect a new president on 24 th September 2016 an electoral college will conven, which consists of Parliament members and representatives of Estonian local governments.
